As of January 2014 the Asylum Organisation Zurich (AOZ) operates the centre at Juch on behalf of the federal government. Here in Zurich West, The Federal Office for Migration (FOM) is testing the fast-tracked processing of the Swiss Asylum Procedure as approved by the popular vote on 5 June 2016. The maximum length of stay at Juch is 140 days.
Once a month a team from Cuisine sans frontières cooks with and for the 200 – 300 residents at Juch. This communal cooking in the afternoon is concluded by the dinner served at shared tables. One of our goals is to encourage contacts amongst the residents as well as with the local community.
We aim to foster a community spirit and ease social tensions and, by creating a meeting place where diverse cultures and communities can get to know each other, improve the refugees’ quality of life.
These events are organised by the AOZ - Asylorganisation Zürich, Csf and the residents at Juch.
This project is made possible by the generous financial support offered by the SV Stiftung.
