The Favela Cidade de Plastico is a squatter’s territory on the outskirts of Salvador da Bahia. It is dominated by criminal gangs and high volumes of drug use with no social services facilities or centres for the inhabitants.
In cooperation with Movimento sem Teto and the women’s cooperative Guerrieras sem Teto Cuisine sans frontières is building a soup kitchen. This meeting place creates jobs for women from the area and provides a neutral space for cultural and social events.
